Many people can agree we are currently living in the ‘Information Age’ where informations is accessible anywhere. However this has not changed the fact that education is a big problem in America. Where nearly 28 percent of Americans hold a bachelors degree-how come in an age where information has become very accessible have we all become uninterested? The lack of education in America brings many problems to our society from simple-mindedness to complete ignorance in how our country-the world is structured. Call to mind that as ideas flourish and information flows how can anyone be saved from ‘fake’ news if everyone has the power to make news?
As Americans we got to the top of the pyramid not by being handy or have the most immigrants but by being intellectuals, innovators, educators. Thus yearning for more and producing inventions from discoveries and passion is only easier through an education.
Univision, the number one Hispanic brand in America has recently called to action their first-ever national education week “¡Edúcate, Es el momento! “which is a seven-day call to action effort (October 16-22,2011) featuring town hall, special programming at the network and local levels, and local workshops. This initiative is to educate Hispanic families about the information that is available to them to help them navigate the education system. It’s corporate responsibilities like this that can help several communities in America evolve and grow from the many opportunities available to them.
Who knows from the education available these families one of this children might create the number one Hispanic brand of the future?
Now more than ever it is important to educate oneself and create content. We can not only depend on others to write blogs and innovate and teach us. We have to be willing to teach ourselves in order to inspire others. Education leads to change and change leads to innovation. What are you waiting?
